Health is different from that of other members of the

Medical Service and requires a special training in sani-

tation, I think it better that both these Officers should

continue to belong to the Medical Department whereby the

creation of what would practically amount to another

Department may be avoided. The Assistant Medical Officer

of Health should therefore, like the Medical Officer

of Health,be appointed as a member of the Medical Depart-

ment and seconded for service with the Sanitary Board

and this should be made clear to the Officer selected

for the appointment.

I have the honour to be,

sir,

Your most obedient

Humble servant,

Henry Attake

Governer, 800.
